Shredding and Mulch Pickup Day

The City of DeLand will host a free shredding and mulch pickup day for residents.

The
City of DeLand will host a free shredding and mulch pickup day for residents.

Being
held in conjunction with the 32nd Annual Keep DeLand Beautiful
event, a shred truck will be available for residents to get rid of unwanted
documents. The shred truck, provided by WCA, will be available from 9 to 11
a.m. Saturday, April 4th, at Earl Brown Park, 750 South Florida Avenue.

Acceptable
items to be shredded include credit cards, old/voided checks, bank statements,
bills, credit card applications, old tax documents and anything containing a
personal address, phone numbers or social security numbers. Small staples,
paper clips, prongs in folders or spiral notebooks are OK.

Three-ring
binders, heavy/thick cardboard, metal, glass or plastic, CDs, DVDs and any type
of electronic will not be accepted.

There
will also be a free mulch giveaway for residents of DeLand at Earl Brown Park.
The mulch will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Residents should bring
their own containers to haul the mulch.
