(DeLand, FL) – Officials are investigating a fire that broke out at the vacant Putnam Hotel.
Firefighters responded at 8:58 p.m. Sunday, April 29 to the Putnam Hotel, 225 West New York Avenue, after a resident witnessed flames coming from the building.
When firefighters arrived on scene, flames could be seen on the top floors of the structure. The fire was extinguished but the building sustained significant damage.
Units from Volusia County, Orange City, Deltona and New Smyrna Beach assisted with the operation. There were no injuries reported.
The origin and the cause of the fire remain under investigation.
