(DeLand, FL) – WCA, the city’s waste hauler, will be consolidating its pickup schedule to ensure all residents’ garbage is collected by Saturday.

Garbage service resumed Thursday after being suspended for Hurricane Dorian. Recycling will not be picked up this week.

Here is the updated schedule for the rest of the week:

Thursday, September 5 - Makeup day for Tuesday customers.
Friday, September 6 - Makeup day for Wednesday customers.
Friday, September 6 and Saturday, September 7 – Collection days for Thursday and Friday customers.

Bottom line: All Wednesday, Thursday and Friday customers should put out their garbage containers by Friday morning and it will get picked up by Saturday.

Additionally, yard debris caused by Hurricane Dorian will be picked up as normal by WCA. Residents should have the debris broken down and tied in bundles or placed in bags or containers. Debris should be no more than 4 feet in length and 50 lbs. per bag, bundle or container. Anything additional can be priced for removal.
