The event season is beginning to ramp up in DeLand, meaning plenty of fun for the family as well as some road closures.

The event season is beginning to ramp up in DeLand, meaning plenty of fun for the family as well assome road closures.
On Friday, September 21, DeLand High School will have its homecoming parade beginning at 2 p.m.
Woodland Boulevard will be closed to north and south traffic from Plymouth to Beresford Avenue beginning around 11:30 a.m. to noon ahead of the parade.
The road is expected to reopen around 3 p.m.
The following weekend, Woodland Boulevard will be closed from Wisconsin Avenue to Howry Avenue beginning at 5 a.m. Saturday, September 29 for the DeLand Craft and Quilt Show. New York Avenue will be closed from Florida to Alabama beginning at 6 a.m. Saturday and will reopen at 7 p.m. and then close again a t8 a.m. Sunday.
All roadways affected by the Craft Show are expected to reopen by 8 p.m.Sunday, September 30.
Also, beginning the weekend of September 28, construction work will begin at the intersection of Plymouth Avenue and Woodland Boulevard. Plymouth will be closed to traffic at that intersection through the weekend though Woodland will remain open.
Construction at that intersection is also expected for the weekend of October 5-7 and October 10-12.
