[ARCHIVED] City seeking nominations for Volunteer of the Year

The City of DeLand is seeking nominations to recognize area residents for their volunteer efforts.

The Volunteer of the Year Award is given annually to a greater DeLand-area volunteer, who goes above and beyond the call of duty. The nominee must have been engaged in volunteer activities for a minimum of one year in the greater DeLand area.

The City is separately accepting nominations for DeLand-area volunteers under the age of 40.

Nominations, which may be submitted through an online form on the city’s website or at City Hall, will be accepted until October 7.

The winners will have their names memorialized via plaques that will be placed at the corner of Woodland Boulevard and New York Avenue in Downtown DeLand.
