At
that first meeting they also named Woodland Boulevard,
this was the first street laid out by Henry DeLand.
In September 1886, a fire started in Wilcox Saloon,
destroying the 100 block of Woodland Boulevard. As a
result of City Commission passed two ordinances: Only
masonry building were to be built in the downtown area,
and saloons were no longer allowed within the city limits
of DeLand.
