Tree/Infrastructure Permits

A permit is required to cut down trees or clear land. If it is a single tree on existing developed property, you will need to know the type and size of the tree. If it is a protected or historic tree the City forester will have to look at the tree and make a determination if the tree can be cut down. If the forester approves, a permit will be issued and the tree can be removed.

An infrastructure permit may be issued for large developments after site plan approval. This permit is issued if the developer wished to clear and install underground utilities before the structure permit is issued. If the developer obtains his building permit an infrastructure is not necessary because the work is covered under the building permit.
