Administration/Community & Economic Development
Many communities talk about being pro-business, but few have been as active in establishing tangible methods and procedures to ensure smooth sailing for businesses. In DeLand you'll find a streamlined permitting process that will allow relocating or expanding companies in moving from planning to production. The Community Development Department administers and manages the City's land development review process. The Planning staff is responsible for coordinating the site plan review and subdivision platting process among the developer, other City Departments and the City Commission to assure required approvals are issued before construction commences. Building Department staff reviews plans quickly and then works closely with builders to insure timely inspections.
Properties Available for Lease
The Community Development Department also works with other members of the City management to promote quality industrial development at the City's airport. Several acreage tracts are still available for lease. Please contact Taver Cornett, Economic Development Coordinator at (386) 626-7021 / cornettt@deland.org, if you are interested in leasing industrial zoned property at the City's Airport.
