The intent of this Agency shall be to direct the rehabilitation, conservation, and/or redevelopment of the area as necessary for the public health, safety, morals or welfare of the residents of the City.

The intent of this committee is to make recommendations to the City Commission for the purpose of aiding and assisting them on matters relating to community development and economic growth including, but not limited to, downtown redevelopment and the DeLand Municipal Airport and Industrial Park.

The intent of this committee is to review the tree planting in the City and recommend to the City Commission ways to improve the City's tree program.

The intent of this Board is to guide and accomplish a coordinated and harmonious development of the City which will, in accordance with existing and future needs, best promote the public health, safety, morals, order, convenience, prosperity, and the general welfare, as well as efficiency and economy in the process of development.

It is the intent of this Board to:
- Update the official inventory of cultural resources and submit to the City Commission recommendations and documentation concerning the updating.
- Develop programs to stimulate public interest in urban neighborhood conservation, to participate in the adaptation of existing codes, ordinances, procedures, and programs to reflect urban neighborhood conservation policies and goals.
- Explore funding and grant sources and advise property owners concerning which might be available for identification, protection, enhancement, perpetuation, and use of historic, architectural, archeological, and cultural resources.
- Cooperate with agencies of city, county, regional, state and federal governments in planning proposed and future projects to reflect historic preservation concerns and policies, and assist in the development of proposed and future land use plans.
- Advise property owners and local governmental agencies concerning the proper protection, maintenance, enhancement, and preservation of cultural resources.
- Advise the City Commission concerning the effects of local governmental action on cultural resources.
- Review and recommend the designation of sites, buildings, structures, objects, and districts, both public and private, as historically or architecturally significant.
- Approve or deny petitions for certificates of appropriateness required under the historic preservation regulations in the Chapter 33 of the City's Code of Ordinances.
- Notify the Planning Director who shall take appropriate action when it appears that there has not been compliance with the historic preservation regulations.
- Assist in developing a historic preservation element to be incorporated into the City's Comprehensive Plan and, if necessary, make recommendations for amendments to historic preservation goals, objectives and policies in the plan.

It is the intent of the Authority to be a local public housing agency for undertaking and carrying out preliminary planning of low-rent housing projects and financial assistance in providing low-rent housing by leasing dwelling units in existing privately owned structures.

It is the intent of the Task Force to provide advisory recommendations to the City Commission on the governance and applications for funding under the CDBG program; recommend to the City Commission the creation of a permanent Community Relations Committee when appropriate; serve in an advisory capacity on issues brought forth by the City Commission for its deliberation and recommendation. Shall consist of seven individuals, two of which shall be professionals who work in programs that serve senior citizens. Five of the members shall be at least age 55, of which four shall reside in the City of DeLand . One member may be a resident of the greater DeLand area. At least two members shall be residents of a senior living facility located within the City of DeLand . With the exception of the two professionals, appointments will be for a two-year term with service limited to a maximum of two terms. The appointed professionals may serve for indefinite terms, but must be reappointed by the City Commission every two years. In January of each year, the Council will elect a chair and co-chair. These officers will be responsible for conducting the meetings of the Council. (Reso. 01-65). |

Two Year Terms. One Member must be from the Category A, FBO; One Member must be from a Flight Training School; One Member must be an At-Large Resident from either the City of DeLand or Unincorporated Volusia County; One Member must be from the Sky Diving Industry; One Member must be from SkyDive DeLand; One Member must be from the City of DeLand’s Noise Abatement Committee; One Member must be from a DeLand Airport Jet Related Business; One Member must be a DeLand Airport T-Hangar Tenant; One Member must be from a Helicopter Based FBO.
RESPONSIBILITY: Review Current Traffic Patterns, Aviation Activity Surrounding Airport, Applicable FAA, Aviation Related Regulation, New Air Traffic Control Tower Operators, and if necessary, Recommend Changes to Airport Manager and City Commission regarding the Future Plans of the Airport.
POWERS: To Interpret Operational Concerns, and Advise on Plans for the Future, and Obtain Information from Staff and Other Sources and Make Recommendations to the City Commission. |

CRITERIA: MUST BE A RESIDENT OF THE CITY OF DELAND AND PART OF THE DESIGNATED SPRING HILL AREA.
This Board will consist of : Two members of the County Council, three members of the City Commission, one citizen from the unincorporated portion of Spring Hill (appointed by County Council), and one from the incorporated portion of Spring Hill (appointed by the City Commission). Board Members will develop recommendations on the redevelopment of the Spring Hill area. This will include providing input on, reviewing, and recommending a long term community redevelopment plan for the area. |
