Representatives of the City of DeLand, Skydive DeLand, and other end users had a very productive meeting today working toward a memorandum of understanding concerning future operations at the airport. All involved recognize the importance of these industries, the economic impact of which to the city cannot be overstated. We hope to have a final memorandum completed within the next four (4) weeks. With this in hand, subject to FAA and operator concurrence, we all look forward with the help of a specific airport advisory board to insure continued growth, safety and progress at the airport in the future.
