When: Saturday April 30th Time: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Location: DeLand City Hall Parking Lot 120 S. Florida (Corner of S. Florida Ave & W. New York Ave)
The DeLand Police Department is taking part in the National Drug Take Back Day in conjunction with the DEA to assist our citizens in getting unused and expired prescription and over the counter drugs out of our medicine cabinets.
The vast majority of those arrested for prescription drug abuse obtained the substance from a family member or home medicine cabinet.
DPD will have a tent set up on Saturday, April 30, 2011, in the parking lot of DeLand City Hall from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for ease in driving through and dropping off. Officers will accept all forms of prescription and over the counter medications including pet medications. Personal information will not be solicited and no questions will be asked regarding the drop off. The purpose of the event is simply to gather and safely destroy these medically controlled and potentially danger substances so they cannot end up in vulnerable hands.
