City of DeLand, FL
3rd Annual Firecracker Festival set for July 1
(DeLand, FL) – The City of DeLand will celebrate Independence Day a few days early this year! On Saturday, July 1 come join the celebration and ignite your summer with a free family friendly festival at Earl Brown Park.

The City of DeLand Firecracker Festival and fireworks display will include live music from popular, local and national entertainers. The event will offer an unmatched, patriotic fireworks display, Brian’s BBQ and food trucks, the very popular Buttercup Bakery cream pie eating contest along with a great a Kids Zone full of games and activities. The event is hosted by the City of DeLand, powered by RC Hill Mitsubishi and RC Hill Honda and presented by WCA America.

Admission to the 2017 City of DeLand Firecracker Festival is free and the festivities begin at 5 p.m. Following our opening act we will host the child and adult divisions of the Buttercup Bakery cream pie eating contest; sign up at the concession stand! This year’s headline act, Motown Magic, will hit the stage at 7 p.m. Motown Magic has been brought back by popular demand from our 2016 Mistletoe and Music concert. The fireworks display will take place at 9:15 p.m. following the Motown Magic concert. The concert is lawn seating at the park’s amphitheater and guests are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs for the show.

“Our musical entertainment and fireworks display never disappoints. The City of DeLand’s Firecracker Festival has become one of the most highly anticipated events of the year,” said City of DeLand Sanborn Activity Center Director, Jennifer Wilder. “We love seeing the community come together for this family-friendly event.”

This event is made possible by generous community support and sponsors. Special thanks to Brian’s BBQ and Four Seasons Display, Inc.
