Second session of Accelerate scheduled for Feb. 22
(DeLand, FL) – With support from the City of DeLand and the DeLand Area Chamber of Commerce, Creating Jobs Inc. is leading a monthly program for both existing and aspiring entrepreneurs based on their 300-page business training curriculum entitled “GrowBook: 24 Essential Drivers of Small Business Success.”

Beginning at 5:30 p.m. February 22, DeLand City Hall, 120 South Florida Avenue, will host the second session Accelerate which will flesh out chapter two of GrowBook. The session is titled, “Set the Course,” and will explain how to craft and use foundational documents (i.e. vision, mission, and values) to define and direct a business. The seminar will be taught by local entrepreneurs Deidra Jacobs-Manning and Evan Keller, who have each built a multi-million dollar business in Volusia County with 75 current full-time employees between them. Jacobs-Manning is CEO of SAAFE Behavioral Services Inc. Evan Keller is founder and CEO of Tree Work Now Inc. and Creating Jobs Inc., and is the primary author of GrowBook which serves as the curriculum for Accelerate.

Individual and group coaching will follow the presentation to assist attendees in applying the principles to their own ventures. The multi-ethnic team of seasoned coaches includes Mario Davis, Andy Sistrunk, Jason Jurss, Nancy Benet, Inez Bracy, Vernon Moore, and John Meyer.

Accelerate aims to be a multi-ethnic team of entrepreneurs helping each other grow businesses and use them to serve. It is a learning and supporting community which will work to create jobs and build bridges across differences, helping the entire community to thrive. This vision was confirmed by Accelerate’s strong January launch. The 77-member crowd had strong representation from both the black and white communities, and the written surveys and verbal feedback exuded enthusiasm for the program, which seems to be meeting a felt need in the community.

Accelerate will meet every fourth Wednesday in 2017. Admission is $10 for each seminar and includes a light meal, as well as coaching from seasoned entrepreneurs.
