RE:     Announcement of Board Vacancies

COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY (CRA)

The term for Seat 7 (Scott Price) has expired.  This Board shall consist of seven members, to include the five City Commissioners plus two additional persons who shall be appointed by the City Commission.  The two additional members shall either be City residents or shall be engaged in business within the Downtown Redevelopment District, i.e., own a business, practice of profession, perform a service for compensation, or serve as an officer or director of a corporation or other business entity engaged in business within the Downtown Redevelopment District.  Terms are for four (4) years.
INTENT: To direct the rehabilitation, conservation, and/or redevelopment of the Downtown Redevelopment Area as necessary for the public health, safety, morals or welfare of the residents of the City of DeLand.

RIVER-TO-SEA TRANSPORTATION PLANNING ORGANIZATION (R2CTPO)
BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN TASK FORCE
AND CITIZENS ADVISORY COMMITTEE

The River-to-Sea Transportation Planning Organization is a statutory committee created to meet federal requirements for obtaining and expending federal transportation funds.  The authority and responsibility of an R2CTPO is for the management of a continuing, cooperative and comprehensive transportation planning process that results in the development of plans and programs which are consistent with the comprehensively planned development of an urbanized area.
CITIZENS ADVISORY COMMITTEE: The purpose of the Citizen’s Advisory Committee (CAC) is to seek reaction to planning proposals and to provide comment with respect to concerns of various segments of the population in regard to their transportation needs.  It is the function of the CAC to assist the R2CTPO in formulation of goals and objectives for shaping the urban environment; conduct public information programs; provide an effective citizens review of the preliminary findings and recommendations of the continuing study; and assist in other functions as deemed desirable by the R2CTPO or TCC.  Citizen appointments to the Citizens Advisory Committee are made by the City Commission.
BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN TASK FORCE: The purpose of the Bicycle and Pedestrian Task Force is to provide input regarding alternate means of transportation in the urban environment.  Citizen appointments to the Bicycle and Pedestrian Task Force are made by the City Commission representative to the R2CTPO.

Applications are available in the City Clerk’s office in City Hall Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and on the City’s website: www.deland.org.
